The Canadian Supreme court has ruled a women in British Columbia can sue Facebook here.
The court ruled even though users must “agree to its terms of use, which include a forum selection and choice-of-law clause requiring that disputes be resolved in California according to California law” is unenforceable.
Expect US companies to take note. They will now be open to all kinds of lawsuits in Canada and this may spread to other countries.
